Preferred Mutual supports employee involvement in community activities that improve the quality of life in those communities where our employees live.  We also support organizations that provide disaster relief, safe housing and transportation, and opportunities for small business growth and development.

We are active in the community in the following ways:

  • Children/youth charitable contributions and sponsorships involving youth organizations, elementary school fire safety programs, and car seat safety programs
  • Community charitable contributions and sponsorships involving arts and cultural organizations, community historical preservation organizations, community health and safety organizations
  • Preferred Foundation donations to organizations including American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Bassett Hospital, Chase Health, Chenango Council of the Arts, Chenango Memorial Hospital, Chenango United Way
  • Awarding four annual Preferred Foundation scholarships to area high school seniors
  • Employee matching contributions to eligible 501c3 organizations
  • Employee volunteerism, including Adopt-A-Highway, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army flood relief, and other community events
  • Community partnerships with area chambers of commerce
