For more than 30 years, Preferred Mutual has provided scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors from Otsego, Delaware, and Chenango Counties who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their community. Preferred Mutual Insurance Company announces the 2023 scholarship recipients for:
- Preferred Foundation Scholarship
- Irad and Jan Ingraham / James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship
- Christopher P. Taft Scholarship
- Preferred Foundation Christopher P. Taft Scholarship
In 2023, The Preferred Foundation will be honoring its immediate past CEO, Christopher P. Taft with two named scholarship opportunities: The Christopher P. Taft Scholarship and the Preferred Foundation Christopher P. Taft Scholarship. These scholarship opportunities are available for students who live in Otsego, Delaware, or Chenango Counties in NY, graduating from Unadilla Valley Central School, or a child of a non-officer Preferred Mutual employee.

Payton Yahner of Greene High School
Payton will be studying Physical Therapy at Ithaca College.

Owen Burnsworth of Oneonta High School
Owen will be majoring in Business and Finance at Bentley University.
The Irad and Jan Ingraham/James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship Winner
Alexander White of Unadilla Valley Central School
Alexander White will be majoring in Psychology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Allison Allen of Unadilla Valley Central School
Allison will be majoring in Adolescence Education Mathematics at SUNY Cortland.
Christopher P. Taft Scholarship Winner
Hannah Beveridge of Butler High School, in Butler, NJ
Hannah will be majoring in Nursing at Farleigh Dickinson University/Florham Park.

Pyper Kneale of Unadilla Valley Central School
Pyper plans to major in Business Marketing and Agricultural Business at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.
