R. Benedikt Sander Joins Munson Board of Trustees

Preferred Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to share that President and CEO, R. Benedikt Sander, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Munson, a leading fine arts organization based in Utica, NY.

Sander joined the board in January 2026 and previously served on Munson’s Board Finance Committee beginning in February 2025. His appointment reflects a continued commitment to supporting organizations that enrich the communities where Preferred Mutual employees, policyholders, and agency partners live and work.

Sander became President and CEO of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company in 2021 after serving as Executive Vice President of Insurance Operations. His career spans more than 20 years in the insurance industry and consulting, including senior leadership roles with national carriers. He holds professional designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI).

Munson is an internationally recognized fine arts organization serving diverse audiences through the Munson Museum of Art, live performances and events, community arts classes, and Pratt Munson College of Art and Design.
