Duane Meszler Appointed Vice President of Underwriting Strategy

Preferred Mutual is pleased to announce the appointment of Duane Meszler as Vice President of Underwriting Strategy, effective August 1, 2026. In his new role, Duane will help lead the development and execution of underwriting strategies that strengthen Preferred Mutual’s capabilities, support profitable growth and advance the company’s long-term priorities.

Duane joined Preferred Mutual in 2018 as Personal Lines Underwriting Manager for New York and New Jersey. During his tenure, he has executed strategic profitability initiatives designed to positively affect the company’s combined ratio and has represented Underwriting on several projects and committees, including the launch of pricing models and Change Marshal. More recently, his work has focused on expense savings, underwriting control measures and the development of property management tools. 

Duane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Government from Campbell University. His underwriting expertise, strategic focus and contributions to initiatives across the organization position him well to lead Preferred Mutual’s underwriting strategy in this expanded role.
