Preferred Mutual is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Cummings as Controller, effective August 1, 2026. In her new role, Sara will continue to lead the company’s accounting and finance operations while serving as a key strategic partner to the Chief Financial Officer and executive team.

Since joining Preferred Mutual in 2017, Sara has played an important role in developing the company’s accounting function, including leading the implementation of Flexi, Preferred Mutual’s general ledger system. In 2024, Sara was named a RISE Professionals 35 Under 35 Award recipient, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional rising talent in the insurance industry. 

Sara’s experience, leadership and contributions to the organization have prepared her well for this expanded role.
